Walt Mancing was born and raised in Beaver County, Pennsylvania. He attended the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, where he received a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the Wharton School of Business and a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from the School of Arts & Sciences. He then attended Law School at the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana.
Walt practiced copyright and entertainment litigation in Los Angeles before joining Silvercreek Pictures, PLC, a British Independent Film company, where he worked as a creative development executive and writer. When a family emergency brought Walt back to Pennsylvania in 2003, Walt entered his family business as a private wealth manager in Beaver, Pennsylvania. Still passionate about the art and business of film, Walt decided to self-finance (through his film production company HammerSpace) and shoot an independent film in the Pittsburgh area. American Macho Buddha is his producing and directing debut.
